A big left-handed wave to those who have either stumbled upon this blog or who have sought it out with intent. Let me begin by explaining first off the reason why this blog of ours had to be created.
Today while meaninglessly and blindly roaming the political blogosphere, I stumbled upon an even more meaningless and blind "political" blog entitled "Chicks on the Right." Meaningless because of its sad excuse for reporting politically meaningful issues, e.g. the sex appeal of the potential GOP presidential candidates and blind for the hateful responses posted by their followers on topics titled "Oh Look! More Liberal Student Morons" and "Aww, Look At The Annoying Ecofascists." We're obviously dealing with highly intellectual people here. What irks me the most, both with this blog and in general, is the hate-scape these chicks (their words, not mine) have created where other like-minded "Righters" can let loose their hate-speech and insults aimed at the Liberal and Democratic community. Haven't we had enough of that? Perhaps not because the chicks themselves and their right-winged comrades just love to call Liberals "morons," "breathtakingly stupid," and "pretentious." They claim the reason for their blog is in the idea that "Conservatism Needs a Makeover," yet, their post sound like the same-ol' Republican bullshit we've grown accustomed to since a Black man was elected President.
In starting this blog I can firmly state that we will never hurl insults across the aisle at those who choose to take to the Right (locational, not qualitative.) In simply reporting and providing commentary on what the Righters are saying and doing, an intellectual can make their own judgment calls and see the hypocrisy that persists truth in the right-winged agenda. In providing a domain that caters to Women On the Left yet still maintaining a space free of the hypercritical insults and underlying prejudice against the Conservative community and those who support it, we can hopefully provide a civil ground wherein the Liberal and the Conservative communities can share in thoughtful and insightful communication.
